Today I watched a movie called "Yogawoman." It was about how woman have changed the face of yoga. Yoga initially, in the very early years, was practiced by men and woman. Then there was a change in the religions, making woman second class and therefore not allowed to practice yoga. Now, because of some very energetic, leading woman, 85% of the 20 million people in the world that practice yoga are woman. This movie talks with some of the leading woman teachers. The movie also discusses how yoga supports woman, our evolving female lives, and how we survive our current world with yoga. This movie is especially good for woman/girls to watch. Paul and I enjoyed watching this movie.
"Yogawoman" is currently on xfinity on "On Demand". The website lists other cable companies that carry this movie.
This movie can also be downloaded from ITunes, Google and Amazon.
I enjoy yoga as it brings peace to my life. Teaching yoga has brought joy to my life and given me a chance to encourage others in learning yoga.
